Once matured, Agave desmettiana will produce a striking thick green flower stalk with pale yellow flowers that shoots into the sky, creating an interesting spectacle on your landscape that is sure to get noticed for all the right reasons! People love this agave because of its soft and smooth dark green leaves that blends in beautifully with our natural habitat. This “friendly” agave is an excellent choice for any fire-safe landscape in Southern California, where its attractive, tighter rosette style appearance will soften any harsh space. Having been cultivated for centuries, Smooth Agave is thought to have originated in the tropical and subtropical parts of eastern Mexico, though native populations are no longer in existence.
