Pink Fairy Duster (Calliandra eriophylla)
Pink Fairy Duster
The Pink Fairy Duster works like magic in the way its dramatic burst of small pink clusters can add delicate color to any harsh and arid landscape. Native from San Diego County to Texas and down into Baja California, we love to plant the drought tolerant Calliandra eriophylla as a nice accent for water-wise landscapes as well as rock gardens, though it can brighten up any kind of landscape! This is a slow growing shrub with dark green foliage and a late winter to spring bloom that can grow well in a landscape with a limited amount of space or big space!
Pink Fairy Duster or False Mesquite loves to grow in a nice and sunny spot and will have low to moderate watering needs once it’s been established. These small to medium sized shrubs are very cold hardy and can tolerate tough alkaline soils as well as seasonal flooding. Everyone loves their low maintenance features and we recommend feeding it with our line of Moon Valley fertilizers, such as our Super Charged Moon Juice.
Make your landscape abuzz with the small wildlife you love. Plant this Pink Fairy Duster in your landscape and enjoy the show! If you need some guidance with your landscape we can help. We have professional landscape design services available at our nursery and will be glad to show you around and help you hand select the best quality specimens from our superior custom-grown shrubs, trees and much more!
